Today is my mom’s birthday.
My wonderful mother who raised me with such love and compassion, who taught me to “remember who I am” , my caring mother who dropped everything on that day and drove down here to take care of me, who slept with me for days when I could not sleep alone, who cleaned and cooked and did my laundry when I didn’t have the energy to do it, who held me up at the funeral and walked me to the car when it got to much,who helped me pick out Juneau,who helped me put together the tv stand, who prays for me all the time..her birthday is today!
After HeeJun died, my mom was the unlucky one who got the brunt of all my anger and rage and irritation. For no reason at all. I think it was because I knew she was worried about me and I knew she cared, I knew I was safe. My poor mom. I can’t even remember now why I was so angry or irritated. It’s nothing she did wrong. I just had so much anger in me, it had to come out somehow. Unfortunately for her. Lucky for me that she didn’t or doesn’t hold it against me. She still called me after I would shut down and not talk. She still did my laundry. She still loved me. She still does. I’m very blessed.
